According to available studies. 99% of the deaf in the productive age group of 15 – 59 are non-matriculates. 73.9% of the deaf remain unemployed or marginal workers as per the Indian Census 2011. A few disability organizations in India are doing a fine job of skilling the disabled, which is the need of the hour.
The main problems facing the disabled is to get educated or skilled as per their ability and thereafter to get a suitable job.
